Top 10 Quiet and Secluded Beaches in Bali Away from the Crowds

Escape the crowds and discover Bali’s untouched coastal secrets. These beaches require a bit more effort to reach but reward you with pristine sands and total tranquillity.

1. Nyang Nyang Beach

A 45-minute hike down limestone cliffs leads to one of Bali’s longest and emptiest beaches. White sand, clear water, and an almost complete absence of tourists.

2. Green Bowl Beach

Hidden at the base of 300 steps in the south Bukit, Green Bowl is named after the green moss-covered rocks in its sea cave. Exceptional snorkelling and rarely crowded.

3. Pasir Putih – East Bali

Bali’s finest white-sand beach outside the south, Pasir Putih sits in a quiet cove near Candidasa surrounded by hills and coconut palms.

4. Gunung Payung Beach

One of the Bukit’s best-kept secrets, Gunung Payung requires a short hike but rewards with a stunning natural arch, clear water, and total seclusion.

5. Bias Tugel Beach – East Bali

Near Padang Bai, Bias Tugel is a small, perfectly formed white-sand beach that remains wonderfully quiet compared to its neighbours. A 15-minute walk from town.

6. Yeh Gangga Beach

A wide expanse of black volcanic sand on Bali’s west coast, Yeh Gangga is dramatic and completely undeveloped. The pounding surf and dark sand create a powerfully atmospheric scene.

7. Atuh Beach – Nusa Penida

On Nusa Penida’s east coast, Atuh Beach is framed by towering rock formations and small islets. The views from above are extraordinary, and the beach below is pristine.

8. Purnama Beach

A black-sand beach in east Bali near Gianyar, Purnama is visited primarily during full moon ceremonies. Between festivals it is almost completely empty.

9. Pantai Purnama Saba Beach

A long, undeveloped stretch of coastline south of Gianyar where you can walk for kilometres without seeing another tourist. Local fishermen mend nets on the shore.

10. Crystal Bay – Nusa Penida

One of the best snorkelling spots in the region, Crystal Bay lives up to its name with gin-clear water, vibrant coral, and regular sightings of the elusive Mola Mola sunfish.
