Top 10 Bali Beaches for Snorkelling and Diving
Bali’s coral reefs teem with marine life — from colourful reef fish and sea turtles to manta rays and the famous Mola Mola (oceanic sunfish). These are the island’s best underwater spots.
1. Tulamben (USAT Liberty Wreck)
The sunken USAT Liberty cargo ship in Tulamben is Bali’s most famous dive site. Lying in just 3–30 metres of water, it’s accessible to both snorkellers and technical divers.
2. Amed
Multiple excellent dive sites surround this east-coast fishing village, including Japanese wreck dives, coral gardens, and the famous Jemeluk Bay reef system.

3. Nusa Penida
The waters around Nusa Penida are world-renowned for sightings of Mola Mola (August–October) and Manta Rays at Manta Point year-round.
4. Menjangan Island
Part of West Bali National Park, Menjangan offers Bali’s finest wall diving with pristine coral and dramatic underwater cliffs. Visibility here is exceptional.
5. Padang Bai
A pretty harbour town with excellent diving on its doorstep. Blue Lagoon is perfect for beginners; the deep site at Jepun attracts sharks and reef fish in abundance.

Manta rays frequent the channel between Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan. The Mangrove dive site and Crystal Bay offer excellent variety.
